In line with NHS England guidance we have suspended all online appointments but there are now several options which we hope you will find convenient and improve your access to appointments and services.

  • Minor Injuries Unit at Horsham Hospital - providing assessment and treatment of a wide range of minor injuries (minor head and eye injuries, broken bones, sprains and strains, minor burns and scalds, bites and stings)

  • Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital - treating most injuries or illnesses that are urgent but not life threatening. For example sprains and strains, broken bones, minor burns and scalds, minor head and eye injuries, bites and stings

  • LIVI - to maximise timely GP availability we are working with an NHS service called LIVI. You will be able to speak with a GP on your mobile or tablet via Facetime within a few hours between 7am and 10pm weekdays. All LIVI GPs have access to your medical records and are able to prescribe, refer to specialists and order blood tests if needed. Please follow the link below to download the App.

  • Orchard Surgery - if you need to make an appointment with one of our Nurses, GPs, Clinical Pharmacists or First Contact Physiotherapists, you can do so either by completing an ' e consult' (see website front page) or by calling the surgery.
    • We have a range of available routine appointments and our Care Navigators who are specially trained to book the most appropriate available appointment for you. They are requested by the doctors to ask the nature of your appointment in order to establish the most suitable appointment for your needs. Please do not feel offended if you are asked medical details. All our staff are required to adhere to strict confidentiality at all times and our reception staff receive ongoing medical training from the clinicians to enable them to advise you appropriately. This policy allows the surgery to manage the clinicians' valuable consultation time effectively, without compromising patient care.

NB Please note all appointments are over the telephone in the first instance unless advised otherwise. If, following discussion, a face to face appointment is required, the clinician will organise this at a mutually convenient time.

You can now book an appointment to see your GP on-line if you have previously registered for this service: SystmOnline Login - This Function Is Currently Unavailable

At this present time , we are unable so give specific times for telephone appointments due to the management of clinical priorities during the day. However , we do appreciate that you may have limited availability so please do advise our reception team at the time of booking.

Please remember that, as with most GP practices in the UK, the normal appointment length is 10 minutes in which time the GP also has to complete your medical notes and possibly dictate referrals etc. If you have more than one problem to discuss the GP may ask you to make a separate appointment so that further issues can be covered adequately and to prevent other patients being delayed through the GP running over time.

To cancel your appointment: Please telephone 01403 246862

The cancellation line is available for patients to cancel an appointment 24 hours a day including weekends. Unfortunately we are unable to confirm cancellations or answer any other questions on the line.

Text Message Confirmations and Reminders

Orchard Surgery can send text messages to your mobile telephone to confirm and remind you of upcoming appointments.  Please ensure that we hold your correct mobile number so that your record is updated accordingly.

Sick Certification

Please note that urgent appointments will NOT be given for sick certificates.
You do not need a sick note if you are off work for less than seven days. You can self-certify – contact your personnel office at work for details.

Please see link below for further information on self certification.
